Literacy is very important to a child's education. When every child comes from a different family background it can be difficult to connect home and school. For teachers to be able to connect home and school it is important to understand that every family is literate but in different ways. Depending on the needs of the family or language that is used in the home will create different literacy fluency's in school among children. When teachers understand where the child's literacy influence comes from the teacher can create a connection between home and school so the child's learning can continue outside of the school.
